We are looking for a Contract Tech Lead - Service Engineering, initially for a 12 month contract in our team to support customer projects for a World leading aerospace company to be based at their facility near Derby. Job Summary: We are looking for a Tech Lead - Service Engineering in our team to support customer projects for a World leading aerospace company to be based at their facility near Derby. Job Description : Primarily responsible for the leadership both tasking and technical guidance for our global Service Engineering team. This is a hands-on role both providing both coaching and task delivery. This role has a significant element of customer contact with the ability to lead technical discussions with customer and your team. Role - Key Deliverable elements: Be able to lead and coach a team from a technical perspective in the aerospace aftermarket services domain. Be able to ensure structured problem solving. Manage customer commitments for the team and develop a quality service. Key Skill/Competencies: Knowledge of gas turbine aero-engines, engine components and their function during engine operation. knowledge of working of various engine systems e.g. oil, fuel, air, bleed etc. knowledge of various failure/ deterioration mechanisms leading to component/ system failures or distress. Knowledge on Continued Airworthiness and safety in aerospace aftermarket. Experience of root-cause investigations Has strong communication skills, operating within a customer environment (engagement with senior customers at times). Able to confidently establish and maintain stakeholder engagement Able to work independently to tight delivery schedules. Ideally, experience in maintenance, repair/service of aeroengines. Or remote trouble-shooting. Has a strong inquisitive nature – out of the box approach. Willingness to seek answers. Ideally, experience in maintenance, repair/service of aeroengines.
