Overview
Our Client Is currently seeking a benefits officer based in worthing for an immediate start position starting on a 1 month contract - temp to perm, Essential: Two years' experience of local authority Benefits administration. The ability to undertake the prompt and efficient assessment of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support entitlement in accordance with prevailing legislation, litigation, best practice and local policy. Demonstrably up to date knowledge of prevailing Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support legislation, litigation, best practice and local policy. Must have up to date experience in Academy, VEP via DWP and using the UC data share upload from the date share hub. Homeworking will be considered after initial induction period Short telephone interview required Administration of all aspects of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support The ability to deal with complex enquiries and to generate correspondence requiring advanced technical knowledge of Benefit systems. The ability to induct, train and develop subordinate staff. Experience of supervising the day-to-day work of subordinate staff, and guiding & supporting them. High personal standards of accuracy, efficiency and reliability. The ability to provide technical and administrative support to subordinate staff and the organisation, monitoring, controlling and co-ordinating of their activities. The ability to work under pressure with a large degree of autonomy. Able to plan and prioritise work, meet deadlines and adapt to varying demands and pressures. Well motivated, able to act on own initiative but committed to a supporting role within a team. The ability to analyse information in relation to the administration of complex Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support matters. WORKING RULES: You must be able to work full-time (37 hours per week) over 5 days, Monday to Friday.
