Mechanical Design Engineer

Great career opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well-respected engineering company in Rugby. This business unit is part of a larger group of companies and are experts in their field as a leading electrical contractor in both low and high voltage equipment with service and maintenance offerings. The successful candidate will be involved with the mechanical design of all types of electrical / mechanical machinery from induction motors through to major hydroelectric designs and turbo alternators. Working as part of a small team the role will offer you excellent engineering design variation and a wide variety of design tasks. Benefits: Salary dependant on experience Monday to Friday Company Bonus (discretionary and paid annually) 25 days leave Bank holidays Opportunity to travel occasionally throughout UK and overseas to visit clients Responsibilities of Mechanical Design Engineer are to: Electro Mechanical design of new machinery for upgrades and retrofits Produce Bill Of Materials Support service and maintenance teams with production drawings Assist with designs / quotes for project management team for new projects Produce electrical diagrams for a variety of electrical equipment Assist with reverse engineering where designs no longer exist Ensure Quality Control and Technical compliance in line with contractual agreements Required experience / skills of Mechanical Design Engineer: Experienced with the design of complex machines, preferably high voltage electrical machines Experienced with a variety of manufacturing techniques Ideally HNC / HND qualifications or higher Excellent CAD skills, ideally SolidWorks, but not essential Ideally 5 years design experience with machinery If you are an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer and interested in a new role , please contact Stuart Cooper directly on for further details.
