Job Summary Job Title: Senior Support Worker Location: Ashford Lodge – Canterbury, CT4 8DU Hours: 37.5 hours per week Salary: £9.13 per hour Information: This role is shift work. If this sounds great to you… Then you’re just what we’re looking for and we’d like to hear from you What do our Support Workers do? Supporting someone isn’t just personal care; it’s so much more. As a Support Worker you could be supporting individuals with swimming, assisting with the weekly shop, or even helping to administer the right medication. Ashford Lodge support adults aged 18 with autism spectrum conditions, moderate and severe learning disabilities and complex needs including behaviours that may challenge. Every aspect of a person’s life is seen as a potential learning opportunity, and people will be supported to take part in meaningful activities that enrich their lives and maximise independence. The service boasts equality and diversity and gives individuals the opportunity to achieve goals and move forward. What experience do you need? You’ll need to have great communication skills and be comfortable making decisions. A basic level of English and Math is also required. An NVQ/Diploma L2 or 3 in Health and Social Care is also required, and experience supporting adults with learning disabilities. Above all you need to be kind, caring and ready to work as a team to ensure that our services are comfortable, happy, fulfilling and safe places to live.
