Overview

Role: Children’s Support Worker Location: Meldreth, Near Royston Salary: £17,745 - £19,670 Hours: 4 week rota pattern, 14 shifts per month, 39 hours per week Where Will I Be Working? You’ll be working for an excellent provider of education, care and support for children and young people with severe communication difficulties associated with conditions such as Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Brain Injury’s or degenerative disorders. We are a School and Residential service for our young people aged 9-19 where we deliver high levels of exceptional education, care and therapeutic support for our young people. What Will I Do As A Support Worker? You’ll be working directly with our fabulous young students and helping them to reach their aspirations and provide them with an array of experiences. In this varied role we want you to be as passionate about empowering our students as much as we are by helping them to develop their learning and social skills wherever possible. This may mean interacting with groups of our students together, engaging in therapy sessions or even accessing the local community. You will build strong relationships with our students and really enjoy seeing them progress and enjoy their daily lives. As our services are catered for students with complex health needs, we are seeking people who are happy to engage in personal care. As you will be working with children, you may need to get creative and be prepared to have fun This role is not always easy and our support workers will be prepared to be a strong and supportive foundation in our student’s lives. We also do require a degree of flexibility in shifts you can work as typically our support staff work every alternate weekend.
