Applicants are invited to apply for the above vacancy within the Containers Engineering Department, based at the Port of Liverpool. Role Purpose: Support the Containers Operation & Maintenance teams with timely and accurate automation assistance. You will also be responsible for the co-ordination of the Container Maintenance team during failures of the automation systems, monitoring performance of the container handling equipment and enabling and efficient and effective team. This role will include the following responsibilities: Monitor and diagnose all system issues on the live system, whilst based in the control room Assist and collaborate with on shift maintenance and operations teams to increase the level of automation knowledge during breakdowns Liaise between the Engineering Manager, Operational employees, Engineering Planners and Team Leaders to ensure a seamless maintenance routine of all assets occurs Produce KPIs and management reports Ensure the efficient planning, delivery and completion of training plans, as submitted by the area managers with the automation systems Ensure timely and accurate recording of information and documentation that may be used in important decision making and auditing processes Execute in-depth system analysis and improvement plans Assist with automation improvement programs across the shifts Applicants interested in this role should ideally possess the following skills and experience: Experience of automation systems/controls/processes/ fault finding within PLC code/HMI’s Educated to a minimum HNC or equivalent Knowledge of technical electrical documentation, network structures, communication protocols Adept at fault finding system errors along with process failures Knowledge of Drives is advantageous but not essential Highly motivated self-starter who is focused and driven to achieve Able to work to tight deadlines A full valid Driving Licence This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89929506
