Overview

About the role: We are seeking a motivated individual to lead and develop a team of up to 10 technicians and manage a group of water treatment plants, reservoirs and water pumping stations. You will drive their personal performance and improve team engagement, whilst managing in line with HR policies & process. Continuously improving operational performance is key to the success of this role and will be achieved in line with a strong health & safety focus. Day to day activities will include managing planned and reactive maintenance across one-third of the SE London area. You will be responsible for assuring water quality and asset reliability through effective management of your sites. Health and safety of the sites under your control and the behaviours of your team. Key Accountabilities: The successful candidate will be driven, conscientious and can adapt; overcoming technical challenges and supporting and motivating others. Day to day duties will include: Process and Water Quality Management – ensuring the sites achieve & maintain very high levels of water quality, good asset reliability in order to meet the required output volumes at the agreed cost. Financial Management –owning and managing the budgetary and financial activities of the sites and team, driving efficiencies into the overall area operational budget. Performance Management – ensuring the team’s productivity and overall maintenance completion and you will be responsible for developing the team, driving their training and health & safety awareness. Customer & Stakeholder Management - ensuring exceptional service to our customers with early personal interventions as required. Health and Safety – You will be responsible for safety on the sites under your control and lead the Health and Safety culture of your team as well as auditing the Health and Safety system & processes. To be successful you will have the following skills and experience: We are seeking an experienced people-manager with a proven track record of engaging & developing their team; ideally with field-based members. You will be used to taking the lead and achieving results in a difficult environment, with a strong focus on and good working knowledge of health and safety. Ideally, you will have a background in water treatment, electrical and mechanical principals or other relevant operational experience. You will need to be competent in using IT equipment/systems. Due to the nature of this role, a full valid driving licence is needed. What’s in it for you: No two days are the same for our Performance Managers.
