That’s where you come in About The Role As our Authorising Engineer you`ll review, inspect, advise on and authorise engineering work to ensure compliance with required regulations and standards throughout all workstreams within the GDSP. You`ll directly support complex engineering activities and take the responsibility of managing up to 10 direct report and indirect reports. Key accountabilities of the Authorising Engineer will include: Review of work • Reviewing NRO work and assessing alignment with engineering policy regulations and standards. • Ensuring compliance with PSSR (Pressure System Safety Regulations), PSR (Pipeline Safety Regulations), Electricity at Work Regulations (EWR), Control of Major Accidents and Hazards (COMAH) and gas quality aspects of the GS(M)R (Gas Safety (Management) Regulations) regulations. • Carrying out investigations, technical inspections and reviews to ensure the safe and efficient operations Remedial work • Advising on remedial or corrective work required and ensure the Partner is fully familiar with required actions. • Managing procedures for safely managing all engineering additions, changes, modifications and repair to the network plant (mechanical, electrical and instrumentation) Authorisation • Authorising work in line with procedures and complete documentation • Carrying out the role of Authorising Engineer as described in Safe Control of Operations (SCO), etc Engineering standards and policies • Managing monitoring and verification of engineering and technical standards operated by the Partner • Advising on engineering policies and ensure these are accepted by the Partner as the basis for operational activities • Ensuring the Partner's engineering policy complies with regulations and standards and that issues are managed and resolved. Ensure learning points are incorporated in revised policies and operations Partner performance • Making sure engineering issues are raised with the Partner as part of review processes and addressed/resolved in line with severity Safety & security policy• Managing the application and implementation of the operational safety and security policy by the Partner • Providing SCO delivery controls for complex operations (NROs) Delivery of work programmes • Assessing implications of rework and communicate programme, resourcing and budget issues • Advising on the delivery of work programme in line with plan, budget and engineering standards HSE • Responsible for the Health, Safety and Environmental issues pertaining to direct reports including safe control of operations, permits and maintenance of ISO14001, PAS55, etc Expertise • Providing engineering expertise and advice when required to Partner organisations. About You You’ll possess the following qualifications, skills and experience: Knowledge and Qualification • Degree or Equivalent relevant experience and Membership of Professional Body • Registered SCO 2 / 5 /4 CP & AE Competencies and experience of administering each Experience • Extensive post-degree experience in an operational or contractor environment • Experience in conducting inspections, initiating preventative action and authorisation processes • Project Management Experience • Experience in developing, coaching and progressing capabilities of key operatives • Leading and active involvement in implementing innovations and new processes Technical • Contract Management • Project Management • Engineering Competences aligned to LP/MP and IP workstreams and attributed activities Benefits At Cadent we’ve got a whole host of standard and flexible benefits.
