Overview

Location: Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire Days & Hours: 16 hours per week with typical shifts as follows; Friday 9.30am – 5.30pm Saturday 10.00am – 2.00pm Sunday 10.00am – 2.00pm There may be some flexibility for the role to be split between two people, provided the hours specified above can be covered. Desirable, to attend trainings Essential: Supporting adults with acquired brain injury Desirable : Experience working with adults with severe disabilities Interviews Week Commencing: Start Date: ASAP or date (subject to satisfactory employment checks) Peter aged 70, likes all types of music and is a long-time supporter of Watford Football Club. He enjoys trips to cafés and garden centres in the warmer weather and activities within the care home including, singing, skittles, bingo and the crossword club. He will also engage in playing a game of dominoes or cards. Peter’s children and brother live locally and visit him regularly. Peter suffered a brain injury several years ago and now requires full support for all his personal and domestic needs, he has limited verbal communication but can respond to direct questioning. He spends most of his waking time in a wheelchair and has limited arm movement and requires assistance with feeding. You will be working closely with the Nursing Home care team, his family, other support workers and the Case Manager to ensure that Peter receives all the support he needs. Peter will require assistance with his daily routines (such as eating and drinking), supporting his mobility and helping to participate and engage in leisure activities and activities at the Nursing Home. This job will suit someone who is calm but very proactive and able to bring lots of enthusiasm to the role.
