Overview

Job Description I have an exciting opportunity for a residential support worker to work within a childrens LD and autism home based in Leyland, Lancashire. The home provides care and support to children on the autism spectrum who also have some challenging behaviours. Duties: As a member of our residential care team, you will strive to bring out the best in every young person by supporting and guiding them in their daily lives. This could be in the form of helping the young person at school, accompanying them to take part in an activity (walking, horse riding, trampolining, Duke of Edinburgh etc.) or simply assisting them in completion of general daily tasks, including morning and night time routines. What we are looking for: Patient, sociable and empathetic, in order to establish good relationships with our young people based on confidence, trust, understanding and mutual respect. Prepared to deal with challenging behaviour which may be exhibited by a young person at any time for any number of reasons. Willing to assist in household maintenance tasks such as cleaning in order to maintain the high level of cleanliness expected within the children's homes. Requirements: Experience in a similar role. Able to work shifts. Salary Details £8.75 per hour working 30 hours per week - £13,650 or working 40 hours per week - £18,200.
