Overview

Automation Software Engineer required for a leading machine builder based in the Liverpool area. It is envisaged that the successful candidate will be degree or apprentice qualified in electrical / software engineering. The successful Automation Software Engineer will be working directly with customers and stakeholders on large retail projects to develop software solutions for machinery. It is also anticipated that the successful candidate will have knowledge and hands on experience with a variety of programmes including Python, Django, Java, C++, writing shell scripts, PHP, SQL, XML/LUA code. Other responsibilities of the Software Engineer include: Working towards Software Quality standards Testing, packaging, and maintaining software components and managing updates Liaising directly with customers and stakeholders Designing and coding from specification Analyse, evaluate, test, debug, document and implement complex applications. Writing shell scripts, python programmes, PHP, SQL, XML/LUA code Carrying out site visits to customers Automation Software Engineer Position Requirements Degree or apprentice qualified in Electrical / Software Engineering 2 years' experience in Software Engineering using relevant programs Have knowledge and hands on experience with a variety of programmes including Python, Django, Linux, C++, writing shell scripts, PHP, SQL, XML/LUA code Knowledge of relational databases, celery, Debian OS, HTML5, CSS3, Twitter Bootstrap, Core Javascript, JQuery, installing PC's, etc. Experience in an Automation or Special Purpose Machinery industry is desirable Automation Software Engineer Position Remuneration Salary: £30,000-£45,000 - Depending upon experience Monday to Friday, 40 hour working week. 33 Days Holiday, including Bank Holidays Private Healthcare Laptop, iPad, iPhone Pension We, Bennett and Game Recruitment, a technical recruitment agency based in Chichester are acting as a Recruitment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
