Youth Worker

REED Community Care are recruiting the right person to help support a young person who lives independently in the Crystal Peaks area. Do you have a nurturing personality? She is a looked after child and is a very vulnerable young female, with possible attachment issues, as well as presenting some Mental Health problems. This young person can be very charming, and can also be fairly challenging. Can you help this young person become more independent, and encourage and support through daily activities? Your responsibilities will include: Encouraging and developing independence skills Promoting healthy relationships with others Helping to care for the young person’s dog – so must like animals Being mindful and have an understanding of substance misuse This young person can be very engaging at times, and can also be difficult to engage, so the ideal applicant must have a high level of patience and consistency with the young person. Shift patterns are… Alternate days will be 2pm-6pm Sundays, 12-4pm The pay rate is £10 per hour, with all shifts being 4 hours. Can you commit to set shifts every week? This role is highly rewarding through developing relationships with the young person and helping them to develop and grow as a person.
