Job Description MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To promote the development of young people in a safe and stimulating therapeutic environment whilst maintaining their dignity, independence, privacy and choice. Operate within a link worker system, monitoring and ensuring residents are being afforded the opportunities, experiences and care identified in their care plan. To have an understanding of both the GIRFEC Framework and SHANARRI Indicators and embed these into practice at the service level and ensure that the outcomes of all young people are recorded and monitored. To maintain appropriate rhythms, routines, limits and boundaries designed to assist each young person as an individual. Attend staff meetings and demonstrate an ongoing commitment to undergo training and continuous professional development. This includes undertaking all mandatory training and maintaining CALM accreditation. Where and when required, engage in de-escalation techniques with the young person and holding safely. To remain well informed about latest practice, research, policy and legislative developments in relation to child care. Adhere to the registration requirement, and code of conduct of SSSC. This includes maintaining accurate records and recording for example chronology, care plans, risk assessments and daily case notes. To demonstrate a commitment to upholding and promoting the values of Woodside, namely, compassion, love, respect, dignity and inclusion. To liaise and collaborate positively with young people, parents and partner agencies to ensure that the best interests of the young person is respected and their physical health and well-being are promoted at all times. To identify and undertake direct work with young people as part of the child's care plan. To participate in and encourage the participation of the young people in the domestic tasks of the home in order to develop self-care skills. All staff are responsible for cleaning, domestic (including gardening and cooking meals) and transport duties. To promote, uphold and advocate for children's rights in all aspects of your work. Including liaison with Who Cares? Scotland. Participation in child care reviews, Hearings and various other meetings - this includes writing reports and presenting. To be part of the community by enabling and supporting young people to play an active part in the recreational and social life of the immediate neighbourhood and wider area. Requirements This post is considered regulated work with children and/or protected adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
