Overview

Senior Transport Planner needed by a large, international design consultancy for their office in either the St Albans or London. This is an exciting opportunity to join an accomplished team and work on a range of transport modelling including urban micro-simulation projects for a wide variety of clients. You will report to an Associate Director within a team collaborative and open office environment. A key part of this role is winning and delivering work as well as providing leadership, mentoring and technical advice for aspiring team members. You must experience of traffic and transport modelling and transport planning and will be focussing on urban projects. The company undertake transport modelling at a national and regional level right down to detailed micro-simulation where individual roads, public transport systems and crowd movements are analysed. Their clients include national and local transport authorities, major sporting organisations, private developers of land and transport facilities as well as overseas institutions such as the European Commission. Minimum Requirements: Good knowledge of micro-simulation modelling software such as VISSIM, Legion, Viswalk etc. Familiarity with TfL's, NR and LUL's model development and audit processes, and will have past experience of model development using these standards Experience and understanding of transport modelling software such as SATURN, AIMSUN, Paramics, CUBE, EMME, VISUM, LEGION Membership or working towards membership of a chartered professional institution such as CIHT, TPS, CILT or ICE Core benefits include 25 days' annual leave, company pension scheme, private medical insurance, life assurance and one paid annual professional institution membership fee.
