Overview

A temporary Ongoing opportunity for an IT Project Manager has arisen with the local authorities in Stafford. The project manager will be required to work independently and lead a number of essential projects which need to be delivered on time as they impact on the wider programme plan. Projects include technologies such as SharePoint, Electronic Document Management Systems, Scanning (digitisation) of records as well as business and process focussed projects such as Strategy implementations and supporting the wider programme business change plan. Possible projects include upgrading the document management system, teams telephony, procurement and implementation of hosted business systems. The project manager must be able to work to timescales and have the initiative to run with projects whilst ensuring the correct levels of governance are in place and maintained. The PM will be supported by the programme manager and a wider team which works very closely together. Skills and Experience: Prince 2 Practitioner. Successful delivery of government initiatives. Leading tendering and contract management experience, preferably within a Local Government setting. Extensive experience working in IT, including management experience in a technical area. Tendering and contract management experience, preferably within a Local Government setting. Hours of work are 9am till 5pm, Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week.
