Senior Buyer
Overview
Your new company Hays are working exclusively with a rapidly growing company based in the Surrey area to recruit for an experienced buyer on a permanent basis. Your new role Reporting directly into the Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for managing supplier relationships and ensure stock availability in order to support sales, whilst ensuring slow moving inventory is not overstocked. Your key responsibilities within the role will be: The negotiation and management of purchasing contracts, agreements and terms Managing supplier negotiations Responding to internal stock requests in a timely manner and in line with the companies strategy Placing and managing purchase order numbers Maintaining Auto Order data, correct lead times, minimum stock Reporting on supplier reporting and forecasting Preventing, identifying and resolving allocation issues To ensure appropriate stock levels What you'll need to succeed You will be in a buying position already and ideally come from an FMCG/Distribution background although this is not essential. The successful candidate will be calm under pressure and display a sense or urgency. They will develop a good understanding of products and their applications, markets and their drivers. Experience of far east sourcing would be advantageous as well as demand management, planning and excellent communication skills. A willingness to work towards your CIPS qualification.
