Care Assistant
Overview
St. Matthews Healthcare provides mental healthcare and rehabilitation services, supporting people to work towards living a fulfilling life as part of the community. We also provide residential care for older people and those with chronic mental health problems, supporting them live every day to the full. We have an opportunity for a care assistant to join our dedicated team of professionals in a challenging but rewarding environment in our nursing home for adults with dementia and mental health issues at Hawthorne House. Main Duties and Responsibilities • To establish and maintain therapeutic relationship with patients, carers, all staff and other stakeholders • To contribute to the optimal delivery of care by assisting other staff in the actual giving of care and to report to a member of the qualified staff any significant changes in the residents condition e.g bruises, rashes and mental state • To assist residents with communication and enable them to manage situation where they might become distressed • To encourage and assist residents to meet their dietary/nutritional needs • To promote and assist the residents to maintain their personal hygiene, cleanliness and appearance • To assist nursing team by providing by providing accurate feedback of residents’ needs/responses In return we can offer you; • Excellent rates of pay • Generous annual leave entitlement • Comprehensive induction training • Ongoing training from our in-house and external training providers • Continued support and fantastic career development opportunities to progress within a forward thinking, modern health care provider. We have full time and part time positions available, which includes night and day shifts. Hours are to be worked on a flexible pattern to meet the needs of the service, this includes long days, weekends and bank holidays.
