Overview
Role Purpose: As a Database Developer, you will be responsible for gathering data from various sources, considering business requirements, the relationship between data, performance, maintenance and structure of application databases, increasing efficiency and stability and putting it in to a meaningful structure and format for later analysis. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the design and development of a fully integrated data warehouse solution. Support business Intelligence and decision making across the business. Assist in planning, designing and documenting a suite of BI/Data warehouse solutions in an agile environment. Build new data sources which will enhance BI and analytical capabilities across the business. Assist with populating data for reporting in SSRS and Power BI Produce metric reports against measurable data, either for the purpose of monitoring system health or providing internal/external data. To undertake any further duties and tasks which may be assigned from time to time, at the discretion of the management. Continue to maintain skill set against new technology or product versions. Keep abreast of the latest technologies. Work towards any targets set in your regular appraisal/review sessions. Essential Skills: Substantial experience as a Database Analyst, ideally having developed a data warehouse 'from scratch'. Able to create SSIS packages to perform various tasks. Knowledge of working with Data Warehouses (Kimball methodology) Knowledge of using Cosmos DB or another type of Document store. Good knowledge of T-SQL and MSSQL. Power BI and an understanding of Power BI Embedded. Experience of DAX, M and Data Factories. Essential Attributes: Can work well on their own as well as within a team. Keen learner wanting to expand skillset. Remains calm under pressure. Able to communicate complex information to various audiences. Desirable Skills: Knowledge of SQL Azure. Experience deploying into the cloud, either Azure of AWS.
