Overview

This will include: planning the audit, based on the risks associated with that review. undertaking detailed audit testing and review of processes. producing detailed and structured Audit Reports, containing audit objectives, methodology, findings and constructive recommendations for future improvement. The Audit Report should also require Senior Management to provide management responses, agreed action points and dates for implementation. follow up on the implementation of agreed action points Conducting Risk Management and Compliance reviews in line with good practice requirements. Manage the follow up process. Review and record actions taken by management to correct conditions reported by audit findings. Determines that actions taken are appropriate for the circumstances or initiates further discussions with appropriate management and staff. Conduct reviews in relation to Solvency II to assist the HofIA in providing independent assurance. Assist the HofIA to perform forensic accounting reviews and investigations as directed by the HofIA i.e. procurement (contract) fraud, theft from client accounting funds, tendering fraud and cash misappropriations. To assist the HofIA in the preparation of a monthly update paper for the Executive Board & Audit Committee. The paper will include an update on recent audit reviews conducted, and assurance on the internal control/ risk management environment across the Group. Represent the Group Head of Internal Audit in meetings as an when asked; documentation throughout the group; Perform follow-up work to ensure management progress on actions within the agreed time scales; Stay current with changes in the industry and the regulatory frameworks and analyse impact of those changes on the business; Facilitate and drive improvement in the Group's internal control framework, including a framework for testing those internal controls; and Perform other duties/participate in other group projects as assigned. The Successful candidate will possess a related professional qualification (ACA/CIA/ACCA) and must have at least 5 years audit experience gained within an (Re)-Insurance environment, coupled with a good understanding of Claims, Risk Management, Solvency II, Reserving & Investment Management, in return you will receive a competitive base salary plus generous discretionary bonus,
