Overview

New Start have an exciting position as a Substance Misuse Resettlement Worker to work as part of a team providing quality accommodation and support services for vulnerable adults participating in, and seeking recovery within, a safe and secure environment. You will be based in Liverpool on a full time, permanent basis working 37.5 hours Mon-Fri, 9am – 5pm. In return you will receive a competitive salary of £19,500 per annum then increasing to £21,000 after successful completion of probation plus £30 essential car user allowance. New Start is a family run not-for-profit organisation providing residential and supported accommodation services for vulnerable adults, families, and young people. The Substance Misuse Resettlement Worker will manage a caseload incorporating both elements of the service; and provide daytime visiting support which integrates both targeted and structured support planning that ties into an overall resettlement plan. You will also provide quality support, advocacy, advice and guidance in an Abstinence-based or Harm Reduction accommodation settings within the Project. Responsibilities as our Substance Misuse Resettlement Worker - Manage a combination-caseload of abstinence and harm-reduction units - Maintain experience of a range of recognised evidence-based interventions for both recovery and harm-reduction treatments interventions - Ensure personal knowledge remains up to date with relevant safeguarding legislation and knowledges regarding treatment routes and practice guidance - Support the development and delivery of New Start’s Harmony Project alongside other New Start services - Contribute to the overall performance of the services’ outcomes by ensuring support delivery and interventions meet the service’s guidelines and targets - Provide advice and assistance to individuals wishing to access the service who are homeless or at risk of homelessness - Provide daytime visits, encompassing housing-related support, tenancy sustainment and abstinence or harm reduction orientated support strategies to applicants within Harmony Project accommodation - Operate within the remit of New Start’s service specification and delivery model - Work within the allocated time frames for facilitating move-ins as per applicants’ waiting list status - Ensure all new clients to the service receive a full and comprehensive induction of the property and the support service What we’re looking for in our Substance Misuse Resettlement Worker - A minimum of 2 years’ experience of similar post supporting outreach services, hostel provision or a residential setting - NVQ Level 3 in Housing / Homelessness or Health & Social Care - Must be a driver with access to your own vehicle - Experience of casework and managing a caseload - Experience of undertaking assessment and support planning - Experience of multi-agency working - Experience of service user support within a recovery or substance misuse service - Relevant experience / understanding of substance misuse issues and treatment options - Up-to-date knowledge of health, treatment and recovery referral routes within the Liverpool City Region - Working knowledge of barriers facing clients with repeat homelessness / eviction histories; mental health issues; substance misuse issues; refugee status and complex needs If you believe you are the right candidate for the role as our Substance Misuse Resettlement Worker, then please click ‘apply’ now We’d love to hear from you This post is subject to enhanced DBS criminal record disclosure and subscription with the DBS Update Service.
