The day job We have an exciting opportunity for an AAT qualified accountant to join our Finance team based in Hemel Hempstead. A real opportuntiy to kick start your career in Finance and be responsible for supporting the Finance Manager to deliver the financial information relating to the central functions and a key part will be involvement in the month end process as well as providing insightful, useful analysis of financial data. To be successful in this role you will need to be analytical, have attention to detail, and have strong communication skills working with all level across the business. Key responsibilities: Involvement in the month end/year end process Prepare and review monthly accounting journals to the agreed timescales Carry out core accounting responsibilities such as balance sheet reconciliations, managing accruals and prepayments and other activities to manage the ledger Produce timely and accurate management information and analyse variances to assist internal stakeholders Assist with the budgeting and forecasting process Ensure robust financial controls are adhered to and processes are clearly documented Produce ad hoc reports and perform ad hoc tasks as and when they arise Skills and experience required: AAT qualified accountant Previous experience in a financial accounting environment Proficient in the use of Microsoft office, with strong excel skills Numerical ability and aptitude for dealing with large volumes of financial information and data Excellent organisational and administrative skills, able to prioritise work & wide range of tasks Good communication skills, able to engage with a wide range of people, financial and non-financial Previous experience of Oracle Financials is high desirable Reasons why you should apply to us We’re big - really big.
