Overview

Our client, based in Clifton Moor, are a leading faith organisation facilitating the running and providing of services to support the mission and ministry of our clergy, churches, parishes and schools. Due to maternity leave, they have instructed Adecco to recruit for an 11 month FTC for the position of a Finance Manager/Management Accountant. Job Role Deliver robust and insightful management accounts enabling prompt interventions by budget holders and the Board Prepare the annual budget and forecasts, helping each department to plan and manage their budget Maintain rolling cashflow forecasts to support liquidity and investment management Process Management Manage the month end accounts process including performance of key reconciliations and asset registers and review of those done by other team members Oversee the Accounts Payable, banking and Freewill Offer processes, providing assurance, assistance and review for efficient and well controlled delivery Manage investment transaction processes and accounting, including liaison with parish treasurers, fund managers and signatory panels Hold responsibility for the diocesan staff payroll, working with the HR Manager to ensure reliable payroll service for staff and clergy Compile the quarterly VAT returns Charity Reporting, Trusts and Compliance Manage transactional and process enquiries from the external auditors during their fieldwork Manage Gift Aid recovery processes for YDBF and support the Generous Giving Team as they provide advice to parishes. Engagement and management of two team members, in line with our organisational practices. The suitable candidate will be qualified, or part qualified, with a CCAB accountancy body and have a proven track record of success in a similar role or strong evidence of capability and aspiration from a role where this would be the recognised progression. You will be confident managing payroll systems and processes and possess strong IT skills including advanced use of Excel. An experience in charity accounting and compliance matters would also be desirable. The post is full-time, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm with a salary of £34-£36k DOE.
