Overview

Principal-level Software Engineer wanted for one of the UK's most well-known brands in the proptech industry. . About the role Looking for a new place - whether you're buying or renting - is an absolute mission isn't it? Then, once you get the process started and you have to balance landlords, viewings, solicitors, estate agents, it can really knock the stuffing out of you. It's about time someone helped make the process easier. This company is one of the most well-known companies in the property market - I guarantee you've heard of them. They've got a greenfield project team looking at how they can effectively change the whole way estate agents deal with property. Everything from booking appointments, sending contracts, chasing conveyancing etc; looking at making genuine value to the customers. With reach of up to 50% of market share these days, you can be changing the industry forever. You'll be predominantly hands-on, but with a real senior presence across tech decisions, and helping the growth and learning of more junior team members around you. What skills do you need? This is a really senior role for this client; you'll be sitting parallel to the Eng. Managers within the team, but working on a more hands-on basis. Due the seniority, they're not just looking for a great hands-on engineer - you'll need to have previous and proven experience with leadership and breadth of technical knowledge and impact in previous teams. I think where this role sits is either with someone who's previously been a Team Lead, or a Senior at a really strong engineering organisation. The platform's only in early stages, but being built out in .Net Core, Go or Node (depending on which piece). They've got quite an agnostic approach to tech, with more focus on fundamentals and methodologies than fancy buzzwords. You'll have to show you're willing to pick up and learn the right technologies if you don't have previous experience, but don't be worried if you're more Java/Python/Scala etc. based instead - you can still be a great fit here as long as you've got great core engineering and problem solving skills.
