Overview

Purpose of Role: To ensure the full and accurate completion of the management accounts for the specified area of responsibility. Working together with the Finance team to produce the Group set of accounts in a precise and timely manner. Also, to produce and deliver concise and inciteful reporting via KPI’s and commentary to business leads throughout the organisation. Duties & Responsibilities • Responsible for the support in the delivery and review of the monthly management accounts. • Assist in Group Reporting preparation and finalisation. (Both inter-company and inter-group). • Calculation and entry of deferred revenues and Costs, accruals & prepayments. • Aid in calculation of Irrecoverable VAT for group purposes. • Take ownership of all financial aspects of assigned division including management accounting, budgeting and forecasting. • Provide analysis and commentary on the performance of assigned division’s monthly accounts, KPI’s and operational performance. • Assist with Year-end finance audit. • To work cohesively with the finance Business partner and Senior Management in driving financial performance. • Ensure that all variance analysis carried out is fully understood and communicated to the relevant stakeholder. • Identify and exploit opportunities for process improvements to streamline reporting and aid analytics. • Work on financial projects in collaboration with the finance business partner for assigned area. • Implement/refresh core mandatory controls for the business. • External year end and interim reporting and review of the statutory accounts. • Deputise for colleagues when requested to do so. • Flexibility for occasional travel to other business units and sites (rare) • Undertake any ad-hoc tasks and analysis as and when required. Skills Required: • Past management accounts experience • Excellent time management, interpersonal skills, good attention to detail, written and verbal communication skills • Able to influence and work effectively with non-financial managers • Strong analytical skills, with an analytical mindset • Excellent financial systems (Dynamics 365 preferred) and Microsoft office skills particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint. • Flexible outlook and ability to cope with significant change • Continually seeks improvement and more effective methods of working • Works well in a pressured environment • Ability to be held accountable for own area of responsibility • Understanding of finance systems and standardised processes Standard Company Requirements To comply with all Health and Safety requirements as outlined by the Health and Safety Executive and business. To participate in all relevant quality programs and assist as required in quality initiatives. To ensure PPE issued by the business is worn in accordance with Health & Safety legislation. Training is undertaken as recommended by your manager. Qualifications Required: • Qualified or Part qualified (Finalist) ACA, CIMA, ACCA accountant
