Overview
Fantastic opportunity for experienced Head of Corporate Governance Department to join Lexcel accredited practice in Cambridgeshire. Solicitors, barristers and legal executives with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in corporate governance are sought for a thriving firm in Huntingdon. The successful applicant will provide legal advice on a wide range of public sector and corporate matters, whilst proving to have exceptional client care skills. Regular travel to another office in Bedfordshire may be required. Responsibilities • Highly complex and politically sensitive matters • Contentious and non-contentious matters related to corporate governance • Acting as a monitoring officer or deputy monitoring officer for client organisations • Strategic management and business development • Networking • Providing training • Mentoring and supervising staff • Ensuring financial compliance • Practice management • Attending courts and tribunals and undertaking own advocacy • Representing clients in negotiations and discussions with third parties The Candidate • Solicitors, legal executives and barristers with at least 5 years’ PQE • Extensive experience of corporate governance matters • Has proven advocacy, management and leadership skills • Diploma in local government law and management qualification are highly desirable • Previous experience of working in a shared service or multi-locational firm is advantageous • Exemplary communication skills • IT proficiency The Firm Our client is a highly regarded social enterprise law firm specialising in the public sector.
