Overview
Job Title: Residential Field Technician Location: East Midlands (Derby / Nottingham / Leicester) Sector: Telecoms (Telecommunications, Virgin Media etc) Job Type: Permanent Role Salary: £22,000 to £26,000 Per Annum Package. Our client, a large Civil Engineering Construction Contractor who operate within the Telecoms sector, is currently recruiting Residential Field Technician's in East Midlands area, to join their team on a permanent basis, helping to deliver work part of a new framework for Virgin Media (VM), over the coming 5 years. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation of fibre/cables, VM sub ducts and blown fibre tubes, into ducts, cabs and premises, as well as delivering Civil Engineering / VM Infrastructure tasks, which will in turn help Virgin Media to build and maintain their expanding fibre network to new builds and apartment blocks etc. Finally, this role will entail helping to grow the UK's Telecom Infrastructure Network and a key part of the role will entail demonstrating safe and quality work and a reputation for professionalism / positive customer service. Daily duties will include but are not limited to: Overseeing Cable, Fibre, Civil Engineering and Infrastructure installations, including Test, Rodding & Roping of underground ducts, the installation of cables, sub duct and blown fibre tubing into ducts, cabs and premises. Fibre blowing on both local and trunk networks. Network testing, of all micro ducting, within the fibre to the home (FTTH). Completing and submitting all necessary documentation. Being compliant with all Health, Safety & Environmental policies. Candidates will ideally have: Previous experience working within the telecoms industry (Previous worked on a Virgin Media contract is ideal). Experience of Network Activation's. Experience of Telecoms installations including cables, sub ducts and blown fibre tubes. Strong working knowledge of fibre networks (FTTH / FTTP / FTTC experience ideal).
