Overview

Role: Senior BI Engineer (Power BI) Location: Durham, North East Salary: c £40,000 - £47,000 Bonus (Negotiable DOE) We’re looking for someone who wants to become a Power BI subject matter expert, someone that can really turn data into opportunity with Power BI. Someone that’s interested in utilising the latest tools on the market. Working with AWS, and other cloud based technologies. It’s not just that though, it’s about utilising Power BI at scale, this role covers UK, Spain, Ireland and Australia, within a centralised BI function that has significant buy-in from a multi-billion £ global organisation. You might be in a Data or BI role currently with no natural progression, or simply looking to take that next step. If so please apply for further information. Role Includes – · Help develop relationships with various Functions by producing analytics and reports. · Work with the Business to set up 'self-serve' reports and dashboards that can be used to drive the business forward. · Analyse all data throughout the Company and identify relevant fields that will be housed in a data lake in the cloud (AWS). · Identify trends within the data and, using forecasting methods, make pro-active recommendations that increases profits for the Company. · Work closely with Engineering side of the Team to help define strategy. · Designing efficient data collection techniques specifically for the Company. · Contribute to the development of overall processes within the BI and Data Engineering Function. · Proactively seek opportunities from across the Organisation to improve the BI and Data Engineering infrastructure. Experience Required – · Strong SQL and Power BI (DAX and Power Query) skills. · Analytical and problem solving with an eye for detail. · Brilliant Communication skills. · Understanding of the commercial environment and terminology. · Able to extract and transform data from multiple sources. · Technical competence configuring installations and scripts to streamline data loads. · Flair for designing and building creative and efficient reports and dashboards in Power BI.
