Component Engineer
Overview
Component Engineer Our client is looking for Component Engineer.This role will be based in Marlow, Buckinghamshire with a very competitive salary plus excellent benefits. As a Component Engineer your main responsibilities will involve: Sourcing, selecting, and qualifying components and materials used in the company’s technology. Receiving requests from engineers for new components that need to be added to an engineering database system. Requests will also come from procurement about alternative components. Ensuring that all regulations are being met for the components. Carry out analysis checks to understand whether components are still available or are going obsolete. Utilising SiliconExpert Managing the component database and keeping it updated. Managing and maintaining the company’s internal component database, including any improvements Supplying approved component information to sourcing and R&D Managing the CW End of Life (EOL) studies on current production on a quarterly basis. Supporting 8D production issue meetings on component related issues Supporting the RoHS, REACH and conflict minerals programs Use of Microsoft Excel to analyse the data Must have experience with a REACH/RoHS compliance Completing or managing (where necessary) PCB data pack updates Supporting other team members of CW and R&D with component information including Fault analysis Supplying new component numbers and reports when requested to R&D, and other departments As a Component Engineer your skills and qualifications will ideally include: Knowledge of SiliconExpert. Beneficial to know Agile PLM – or a similar lifecycle management system. Knowledge of the electronics industry (mobile communication).
