Rotating Equipment Engineer - Aberdeen Salary – £60k - £85k Pension Life Assurance Healthcare 33days Holidays Other benefits The Client Our client is a leading provider of data science and predictive analysis services for the oil and gas industry. The company work closely with oil and gas operating companies as a remote extension of their asset teams; helping them to solve complex problems, improve efficiency, reduce costs and mitigate risks by making better use of their operational data. The Role The Rotating Equipment Engineer provides expert functional knowledge on the full spectrum of rotating machinery: gas turbines, compressors, and pumps. Through significant, practical experience of maintaining and commissioning turbomachinery, the role will support the following key activities: Responsibilities and Duties Provide technical input across the full range of customers Address customer specific queries as part of day to day service delivery Support Data Analysts and Data Scientists in the investigation and analysis of emerging customer issues Identify opportunities for continuously improving plant safety, operability, efficiency or profitability Provide input to the company's service and product R&D programme Engage with customer support engineers / operations / asset managers in order to Strengthen customer relationships Capture current issues and identify opportunities to demonstrate value Help to solve current challenges and problem areas Support business development and building of customer relationships Qualifications Masters or Bachelors (Honours) Mechanical Engineering degree from an IMechE accredited University, or relevant practical experience Fluency in English Full domestic/international mobility (potentially including offshore travel) Experience Previous employment in rotating equipment role with Operator, OEM or third-party manufacturer Knowledge of rotating equipment-related standards Experience of hands-on activities such as commissioning or maintenance tasks A demonstrable track record of operational support to onshore and offshore assets with a good working knowledge of Production Operations and detailed working knowledge of production plant and equipment Experience working with operational data Skills MS Office 365 Suite of products Excellent presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written Strong organisational and analytical skills Excellent technical skills The ability to prioritise, work under pressure and to meet strict deadlines An understanding of the principles of safe rotating equipment design The ability to plan and organize work flow in efficient manner Disposition Technically curious with an interest in new technologies and data science approaches A passion to influence current offshore work practices A solution seeker Can readily adopt the mindset of the customer Ability to work independently on own initiative and to contribute as part of a team Willingness and ability to be flexible.
