Applications Engineer

Job Introduction As part of the TGW Lifetime Services team (LTS), you will play a key role in supporting the growth of the upgrades and enhancements area of the LTS business, allowing LTS to realise its strategic and financial goals. The role is to work as a member of the U&E team to produce order wining solutions that provide business benefits to our customers. You will also be required to manage and provide the necessary engineering detail so that our U&E solutions can be built safely, to all relevant standards and cost effectively. Main Responsibilities To prepare the best solutions (cost and technology wise) for specific material handling and storage system requirements. Layout design. Ensure that the right TGW equipment is used (technical detail engineering). Project calculation (Mechanics Budget). Provide technical sales support. Attend customer meetings and presentations as required. Work closely with TGW experts from TGW Group HQ in Austria. Technical specifications for 3rd party equipment. Responsible for machine cycle and energy consumption calculations. Knowledge of the regulations of the local authorities Designing to the relevant BS / EN standards. To prepare accurate costing’s for LTS proposals. Collaborative, supportive and integrative working with the other LTS colleagues. Support the continuous improvement process within your area. To maintain and develop departmental processes to ensure a continuous drive towards improving efficiency. Identify cost saving opportunities for TGW. To be punctual and keep commitments made by the organisation to our customer. About You Essential Several years of experience in similar Applications Engineer role. Technical education to a minimum HNC level. Commercial and cost awareness. Communication skills and ability to work in a team. Has worked to precise and structured methods. Very experienced CAD user.
