Overview

Company Information You will be working for large manufacturing organisation based in Chester. Trading for over 70 years, they are one of the global leaders on their niche product. Due to re structure and growth they are looking to expand the team. Main duties This role gives great all-round exposure to finance in a small-medium sized limited company that is part of a large global business. The preferred candidate will be a self-starter with previous experience in a similar position. Opportunities to progress within the wider business are available. Key responsibilities of the role include: Complete the month end close to trial balance Calculate accruals and prepayments Process monthly journals and bank reconciliations Monitor and support sales and purchase ledger functions Complete VAT and Intrastat returns; bank and intercompany reconciliations and stock takes Assist with Group Reporting Manage the fixed asset register Calculate retrospective volume related customer discounts Variance analysis of the monthly P&L and sales reporting Key competencies of the candidate include: Able to communicate at all levels and work as part of a team Enthusiastic with a desire to lead improvements and lead other members of the wider team Take responsibility and ownership of duties Hard working and flexible approach to support the wider team where required Requirements Currently studying towards CIMA or ACCA (essential) Strong MS Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables, etc.) Experience of using accounting systems and working in management accounts A good general understanding of accounting principles and standards GCSE's English & Maths (essential) Educated to A-level standard (desirable) Educated to Degree standard (desirable) Benefits Salary 28k (This doesn't provide study support), Hours: Mon-Thurs 8.30-4.45pm and Friday 9-4pm, 25 days plus bank holiday, Pension.
