Principal mechanical design engineer job, London, £55-65k, complex and technical projects, growing business Your new company This multidisciplinary consultancy is part of one of the UK's largest construction sector businesses. With plans to significantly expand their presence in the London market, you will join at an exciting time and have opportunities for fast-track career development. They specialise in technical, high-value, and critical project types, such as rail, life sciences, aviation, and defence. To support their rapid expansion they moved to a large central London office in 2019, and added dozens of additional professionals to the team. Throughout 2020 they are continuing this growth, and you will see dozens more colleagues join you throughout the year. Your new role You will join a team of MEP designers working in central London, supporting a variety of projects at any one time. Your team is lead by a local director, and you will be given significant authority to manage your own projects and workload. You will take a lead on all elements of a project, from attending client meetings, full design, monitoring project costs and resource, through to monitoring of on site works. You will support strong client relationships and help the team gain repeat business. What you'll need to succeed You will have experience working within a UK MEP consultancy or multidisciplinary, and will have worked on a variety of medium to large scale projects in technically demanding sectors. You will be confident in leading a project, managing clients, and supporting junior team members. You will be able to balance the constraints of creating excellent design work with controlling financial spend on projects. You will be confident in facing clients, and able to maintain and grow relationships to ensure repeat business. You will be personally ambitions and eager to support the fast growth of your team.
