Overview

Export Officer I am seeking an Export Officer to join a thriving manufacturing business in Plymouth. Reporting to the Customer Engagement Manager, the primary functions of this role will be; to ensure that export processes and procedures comply with international trade laws, that export shipments are processed and coordinated, cost effectively and in a timely manner, with due regard for customer service and finally, maintaining system world trade data, commodity codes, country of origins and completing customer trade declarations. Key Responsibilities · Maintain procedures, to ensure company trade compliance with all international shipments, in line with export controls and trade sanctions applicable. · Involvement in reviewing export licencing requirements and processing necessary applications. · Arrange and co-ordinate export shipments to customers, sister companies, suppliers and sub-contractors. · Liaise with carriers, freight forwarders, transport companies for timely processing of shipments and settlement of complaints or queries. · Ensure all despatch and export documentation is completed and compliant with customs controls, obtain ATR’s, EUR1. · Process and complete customers long term supplier declarations, certificates of origin and any other customer specific custom/export documentation. · Review and generate invoices for payment, liaise with Customer Service to confirm shipment to customer. · Ensure all necessary documents are maintained for auditing for export controls, HMRC and Company requirements. · Manage freight invoices, verifying and processing in line with accounts payable process. · Assist with imports, coordinating with carrier/customs clearance as required. · Involvement in stock control activities and supporting stock takes. · Actively participate in supporting projects across the business, carrying out tasks and driving progress to achieve timely successful completion. · Identify process improvements, develop and drive implementation. · Provide ad-hock support within the business to ensure the site’s Business Objectives are achieved. Qualifications & Competencies · An excellent team player. · Business Administration Degree · Minimum A – C GCSE in Maths & English. · Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. · Previous hands on experience in logistics and processing export shipments globally. · Willingness to be flexible to support the business and to achieve objectives. · Ability to remain calm under pressure and act with a high level of integrity. · Working knowledge of INCOTERMS, ATR’s and UK Trade Tariff. · Willing to train and gain qualifications in International Trade. · Certificate in International Trade (Level 3) Desirable. · Highly organised and structured approach to work.
