Overview

My client is a well-funded start-up with a strong business model and exciting plans for growth this year & beyond. With 2021 scheduled for the launch this is a company in the nascent stages of building its platform & applications out. With the finishing touches being put on a heavy hitting leadership team they are now looking to make key hires in a several areas - including making their first hire within the Mobile (iOS and Android) space. I am looking for ambitious and talented Mobile Developers with at least 2yrs (ideally more) experience developing Mobile app's in commercial environment, if you segued into Mobile Development after success in Software development. This is a greenfield site, building mobile apps for my clients new platform so you must be comfortable designing, developing and testing & delivering iOS and Android apps, have experience writing Restful API's & integrating with external/3rd parties. This is an Agile environment and being an early-stage (though well funded by successful tech entrepeneurs) start-up you can expect to have to wear different hats & have a can do attitude. You must have excellent communication skills & have a passion for UX and reflect this in your design considerations from day 1. As well as UX teams you will also work with teams focused around the server-side/back-end and be comfortable moving between both. You will work closely with the Chief Architect and Project Manager as you establish & agree roadmaps & plan out mobile app development. You must have fluent coding skills and be a true full-lifecycle practitioner, skilled across the SDLC & enjoy hands on development as well as being able to mentor and lead other Mobile Developers (who you will be recruiting), working closely as part of a cross functional unit including Software development, UX and Testing teams. Taking wireframe model and creating new features and UI will be a key aspect to the role which is many faceted & interesting - as well as a real UX/UI sensibility you also need to be ensuring the demands on the back-end to ensure strong and reliable performance are also met. This is a nascent role, meaning candidates need to be flexible and adaptable, have a passion for solving 1st time technical problems & who thrive on being taken out of their comfort zone and challenged. My client has big plans, is well funded and as the first hire in this space a rare opportunity exists to build off a greenfield site and grow a team & develop your own skills in the process. Candidates can either have a pure iOS or Android background but must understand they will be developing in both. On a broader level the tech is non-MS but Java, Python, PHP, Javascript et al on an AWS platform. As mentioned before though, being UX orientated in more important than any given tech.
