Care Assistants - day shifts - immediate start in Whetstone N20 Work flexibly around your family or other commitments, we can offer between 24 and 42 hours per week. We are recruiting Care Assistants to our residential care homes in Whetstone N20 (London Borough of Barnet). We care for older persons / older persons living with dementia. THE ROLE Duties will include personal care, moving and handling, mealtime support, social activities, and those other tasks required to support our residents through their lives. You will build strong relationships with all those around you, making sure family and friends feel welcomed, that health care professionals are kept well-informed, and that you are keeping your team leader up to speed with residents needs and progress. As a team player, you will follow guidelines and policies and have good IT skills to support residents care plans. We use care management software, and smartphone hardware, to record the care provided to our residents. You will also help our residents to live a full life; to be more independent, to enjoy their daily activities, and to exercise choice in their day-to-day living. Whether you are assisting your team leader, completing care records, or lending someone a hand to eat their lunch, you will make all the residents you care for feel safe, comfortable and secure. In other words, you will make them feel right at home. WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU? Pay rates starting from £8.72 per hour and increasing depending on you proving your abilities and commitment through probation. Paid holiday to 28 days, and workplace pension option. The ability to work flexibly around your family or other commitments, we can offer between 24 and 42 hours per week. WHAT WE NEED YOU TO HAVE? Ideally you will have experience working with older people in residential care, but so long as you are willing to learn, are flexible, patient, caring, organised, enthusiastic and great with people, then we can train you. If you do not have it already, you will need to be willing to work towards your QCF 1-5 (NVQ 2 or 3 in Care). Ongoing training will be provided and job advancement is available and supported to ensure you enjoy fulfilling career development. You will need to be flexible to work shifts on a rota basis.
