Overview

Care Assistants - Night shifts - immediate start in Whetstone N20. Up to £9.50 per hour, plus great benefits and career development. Work flexibly around your family or other commitments, we are offering 2 nights (24 hours) or 3 nights (36 hours) per week. Ventry Residential Care is recruiting Care Assistants, for night shifts, to our residential care homes in Whetstone (London Borough of Barnet). We care for older persons / older persons living with dementia. THE ROLE To help residents get ready and into bed/settle down for the night, and assist them in the morning. To provide a high standard of care overnight, including hygiene, continence, mobility, dressing and general care. To carry out regular checks on residents and the building, and assist residents with any care needs that arise. To answer emergency bells or calls from residents immediately and seek further assistance if necessary. In the time available between attending to residents, undertake domestic duties, e.g dusting and hoovering, cleaning bathrooms, preparing tables for breakfast, etc. As a team player, you will follow guidelines and policies and have good 'IT and systems knowledge' to support residents care plans and care records. We use care management software, and smartphone tablet hardware, to record the care provided to our residents. WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU? WHAT WE NEED YOU TO HAVE? Ideally you will have experience working with older people in residential care, but so long as you are willing to learn, are flexible, patient, caring, organised, enthusiastic and great with people, then we can train you. If you do not have it already, you will need to be willing to work towards your QCF 1-5 (NVQ 2 or 3 in Care). Ongoing training will be provided and job advancement is available and supported to ensure you enjoy fulfilling career development. You will need to be flexible to work shifts on a rota basis. There will be an opportunity for staff to set their shifts, after their probationary period of employment. WHAT YOU NEED TO DO?
