Job Summary and Duties Affinity trust are looking for people to join their team at the Day Opportunity Service in Leeds who every week support more than 40 people in the area. The Opportunity service is designed to help people reach personal goals and try new activities from woodwork to arts and craft, even including things such as horse riding and attending college courses. This approach, which takes advantage of regional activities, opportunities and resources, has resulted in a diverse project portfolio which aims to enrich the lives, and support the independence of, people with learning disabilities at all levels. The people we support are involved at every step of a project’s development, where possible. They nurture the seeds of new projects and then grow them with Affinity Trust’s support. Skills and Experience Working as a Support Worker in our day service you will be assisting our adults in various enjoyable activities such as cookery courses, pilates, dancing, swimming and football. This position will also see you supporting out in the community on a 1:2:1 basis; an ideal candidate would therefore be someone who is active and outgoing. This role is offered on part time, permanent basis working 21 hours a week, across 3 day shifts. Whilst general working hours are 9:30am-4:30pm, flexibility is required as the post will involve working some evenings and weekends (on a rota basis). This role is driver essential. Although previous experience supporting adults with learning disabilities would be desirable it is not essential as full training is provided, along with completing shadow shifts.
