Job Title: DevOps Engineer Location: Universal Marina Southampton (SO31 7ZN) Salary: We have flexibility around salary Including 25 days holiday, annual training budget, up-to 10% performance bonus per year, flexible working, free parking and breakfast on Friday. Role: To design, implement, manage, and deliver technical support services to Alliants and Alliants’s clients To provide expert consultancy regarding current and future state environments, platforms, and technical strategy to both Alliants and Alliants’s clients. To protect and where possible increase revenues relating to support services or consultancy. Essential: Managing and configuring AWS environments, including Elastic Beanstalk, RDS, ECS, S3 and Lambda. Automated provisioning and configuration management technologies Containerisation technology such as Docker and Kubernetes Setting up and maintaining continuous integration systems Setting up and maintaining deployment pipelines and environments System management and diagnostics including nix command line familiarity Bash Securing and documenting systems from an infosec perspective Familiarity with Git Experience in building robust designs with no single points of failure at every level from network to application and database servers. Desirable: Managing and configuring other cloud based environments e.g. Azure, GCP Experience with Terraform or Chef Understanding of the OSI model Familiarity with Ruby on Rails Familiarity with various database systems, primarily PostgresQL Programming competency to aid in application-level support / debugging and custom deployment / CI pipeline behaviour Experience with performance testing tooling Rota: Normal out of hours on-call requirement will be on a rota basis; scheduled to be contactable as the first responder one week in five.
