Overview
Accounting Software Support Analyst or Application Support Consultant - this new role is based near Gloucester and requires someone who has good knowledge of the accounting software modules of ERP, DMS, Automotive, Construction or Property Software OR has an accounting qualification like AAT or CIMA and is a superuser of accounts software. You also need some technical skills such SQL, SSRS and / or SQL Server and the right personality and problem-solving skills to help clients with their software problems. Salary from £25-35k plus benefits. This role is to join a busy, friendly team who support property software applications. The clients tend to be very nice people and good to deal with. Most of the companies have their own IT department so you will not be dealing with base level IT problems, but more interesting 2nd line support type queries focused on different aspects of the software. They are winning new clients rapidly this year, business is very good indeed and there are lots of software upgrade projects, so it is a busy environment and the company is growing. Their software solution is heavily accounting, and finance focused with a web browser front end, lots of Business Intelligence reporting and fancy functionality. So you will be talking to clients and helping them with a variety of software issues, not only related to the accounting & finance modules, but also rentals, repairs, maintenance, facilities management, workflow, purchase to pay, invoicing and document management. This job needs someone who is one or the other. Either you are already working as an Application Support Consultant on the accounting modules of ERP, DMS, Construction software, Merchants software, Property software or purely accounting software like Sage 200, Exchequer, SunSystems, BrightPearl, Dynamics GP, Coda, Xero, etc. OR you understand accounts and have an accounting qualification like AAT, CIMA, ACCA or similar and are a superuser of accounting / ERP software who has trained staff in how to use accounting software, and you would like to move into a Software Support role. The support team is a positive happy bunch of people, some of whom have strong technical skills around SQL Server and another one who has good software development skills. This means you will need to have strong accounting knowledge as you will help clients with their queries in this area. The company reward hard work and effort and the prospects for someone joining the support team are to get involved in consulting, training and working on projects with the clients. You would mix the application support role with some client training, so working on reports and some smaller projects, but there is lots of opportunity to progress into bigger projects, or you can stay on the support desk if that is what you prefer, the environment is very flexible. The role is varied so that you will be helping to answer client's problems, as well as changing routines, writing new reports and liaising with the developers to make amendments.
