Overview

Location: Open to location - Flexible working from home, will be required to be in the office 2-3 days each week. Offices based in Canary Wharf, Leeds and Newcastle-Upon-Tyne A global organisation are seeking a Power BI Analyst Developer to support the development and maintenance of core technologies especially Microsoft Power BI cloud based services to ensure the solution within a specified domain meet the needs of the business. Key Accountabilities: Produce technical designs as part of elaboration in projects Develop robust and accurate reporting solutions using a range of tools and techniques Develop code to meet user requirements and internal controls framework Create documentation for operational applications and IT support processes Perform integration testing to ensure units of code work together prior to release for UAT Support Application Support Analysts and DBAs throughout the release process Support the EDW Manager in managing the design, modelling and construction of a corporate data warehouse, supporting data marts and reporting infrastructure using AWS and Microsoft BI technology Support the EDW Manager in managing data warehouse schemas to ensure a robust and flexible framework is utilised to support efficient reporting development Support the UK Data Hub Manager in managing technical issues and requests for additional information to ensure the consistent, timely provision of data and information to internal customers in line with Service Level Agreements Support the UK Data Hub Manager in the creation and on-going management of a UK-wide BI Competency Centre, including but not restricted to governance structures, business and technical support processes and development approaches Power BI Capacity Administrator (secondary role) Take on the Microsoft Power BI Premium Capacity Administrator role for the UK Monitor performance and capacity of the UK Microsoft Power BI Premium Capacity and take appropriate action to scale and uplift the Premium capacity when required. Support the UK Data Hub Manager in the budget planning for future scalability and support of the UK Microsoft Power BI Premium Capacity Implement and develop the UK Power BI Gateway hosted on the AWS Common Data Hub Research resource hungry workspace applications to Identify areas for, and support delivery of, improvements to reduce support overhead, cost of ownership and improve the customer experience Assist Power BI users to migrate existing content from the Standard to the Premium capacity Experience: Experience of developing and maintaining a Premium Capacity and Power BI Gateway at Enterprise level Experience in transforming business requirements into practical BI solutions using formal project management methodologies Experience of interacting with and managing the expectations of a wide range of stakeholders both within IT and in the wider business Knowledge and Skills: Excellent working knowledge of the Microsoft Power BI Working knowledge of user experience design and data visualisation techniques and best practices Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and interactions between MS Teams, Sharepoint, Outlook, and PowerBI Knowledge of Data Warehouses, ETL and other BI Platforms Knowledge of AWS is desirable Knowledge of Quicksight; Glue; Redshift; Snowflake; Informatica; SAP Data Services; or Business Objects is beneficial Able to communicate technical issues and concepts to a wide ranging audience Able to work with data analysts in the wider operational business to build new and improve existing workspace applications Qualifications: Essential Suitable A-levels or equivalent Appropriate specialist technical qualifications for developing, maintaining and/or supporting applications Desirable Degree level or equivalent, preferably Information Technology or Computer Science If you are looking to be part of a friendly, energetic company then please click the 'apply now' function.
