Nursery Chef - Brixton Community Nursery Despite the challenges of the coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis we are still recruiting for staff in our nurseries. Location: 27 Brixton Station Road, Brixton, London SW9 8QQ Salary: £9.59 - £10.55 per hour Details: Maternity Contract - 40 hours per week Qualification: Food Hygiene Level 2 or equivalent Job Description Our Brixton Community Nursery are looking for a Chef to join them on a contract basis. The Nursery Chef will be required to plan and prepare nutritionally well balanced meals for the children and staff in the nursery. The successful candidate will follow the LEYF 'Healthy Eating' and 'Allergy' Policies as well as undertake general housekeeping duties and assist in maintaining a safe and healthy environment. Job Requirements Food Hygiene level 2 or equivalent Good hygiene practices Ability to assess all stages of the food preparation process in accordance with HACCP Knowledge of children's dietary requirements Working effectively as part of a team Work within the budget and keeping neat and accurate records of purchases and money spent Experience of Preparing/cooking food in a child care setting is highly desirable Working at Brixton The Nursery consists of a baby, toddler and preschool room Total capacity of Nursery: 40 Opening Times: 08:00 - 18:00 Regular excursions that involve the local community Age Range: 0-5 years Ofsted Rating: Outstanding Staff Benefits We know it's our people who make LEYF great.
