The role To undertake and meet the statutory examination and contractual inspection obligations of our clients’ plant and equipment. In doing so, you would be responsible for ensuring that you comply with all company policies, processes and procedures in the carrying out of your duties. Key responsibilities As an Engineer Surveyor, there is no fixed place of work - you are required to attend the premises of the company ’ s clients in order to execute your duties. An office space is required to enable work management, organisation and submission of electronic reports at the end of each work day. Plan full, meaningful work days by arranging all work-related activities in an effective, timely and efficient manner, with an accurate account of all time involved being recorded. Be familiar with the health and safety regulations and company policies applicable to the area of responsibility. Take care of your own safety and set an example by using the appropriate health and safety procedures and appropriate use of PPE. Ensure that all plant on the contract schedule for the allocated service area is examined/inspected in accordance with applicable standards or accepted codes of practice, with reports compiled to the standard required. So far as is reasonably practicable, ensure that safe systems of work are available, including application of appropriate risk assessments and method statements, both our clients’ and our own. Provide, build and maintain excellent client relationships and ensure that all customer service standards are met. Provide training for other Engineer Surveyors as required, sharing knowledge and experiences. Maintain an awareness of developments in standards and legislation affecting the appropriate discipline and support change as required (suitable and sufficient levels of CPD to maintain profession competency). Typical examination may include, but is not limited to the following: Equipment defined in LOLER 98 Equipment defined in PSSR 2000 Equipment defined in PUWER as applied to power presses LEV equipment defined in COSHH Other equipment not defined in statutory regulation but subject to the contractual requirements of our client companies. Our work locations vary greatly, and can include but are not limited to: Garage equipment: vehicle ramps, jacks, compressors, spray booths Manufacturing/workshops: cranes, jibs, forklift trucks, steam boilers Office/retail locations: lifts, escalators, boiler rooms Dentists: autoclaves, compressors Residential: stair-lifts, home lifts Key skills and experience Knowledge and understanding of statutory regulations such as LOLER, PUWER, PSSR, COSHH, and British Standards. Ability to follow and apply statutory requirements and guidelines, and company defined policies, processes and procedures. Ability to communicate at all levels. Able to work unsupervised and under your own initiative. Experienced at work planning and time management. Good IT skills; able to operate Microsoft and Apple software.
