What you’ll be doing Being a Domestic Assistant at Care UK means you’ll be in a rewarding role and supportive workplace where we all pull together. You’ll carry out all cleaning duties including communal areas, resident’s rooms and en-suites to a high standard. You’ll also have the opportunity to do some paperwork and re-stocking cleaning supplies as required. You’ll ensure we comply with infection control guidelines as well as respecting the privacy and individual needs of our residents, making the home as enjoyable as possible is a very important role at Care UK. What you’ll need You’ll have experience as a cleaner and this can be from any background. What is most important is that you understand what it means to be caring, and want to make a difference as the result of the work you undertake. You’ll have good communication skills and you’ll understand the importance of ensuring that the home is kept clean and welcoming for our residents, as well as families and visitors, at all times. Above all, you have a natural ability to help make the lives of others more fulfilling and want to work in an environment where this is made fun and rewarding. Flexibility is important – in caring for older people and in supporting their families and carers. We are very happy to care for people on a short term basis, giving their carers a break so they can enjoy a holiday or just have some time to themselves. Short term care may also be a useful solution if a person is recovering from a stay in hospital and needs more intensive support than their family carers feel they can provide. There’s lots of space at Larkland House. All our bedrooms are lovely and big and residents are welcome to add their own personal touches to their rooms. We’re even open to people bringing small pets with them.
