Vacancy: Maintenance Engineer (Electrically Biased) Coventry We have a fantastic opportunity for a well-established company within the West Midlands for an electrically biased maintenance engineer. The role will be within a foundry environment, supporting production in a timely fashion to ensure machinery is kept running. Responsibilities; Carry out and assist with breakdown and emergency situations on any item of plant or equipment. Perform diagnostics on faulty plant and equipment and strip down, repair, replace and reassemble plant or equipment. Accurately interpret electrical drawings and work to sketches by hand or verbal instructions to perform maintenance and repairs. The correct and safe, use of hand tools and procedures to carry out maintenance activities. Use of measurement equipment and instruments to install or modify plants and equipment and to calibrate plants, equipment and controls. The efficient planning of all machinery, laser and maintenance. Attend to Machinery and/or Installation Breakdowns, assessing problem, formulating countermeasure and implementing fix whilst providing realistic time estimates to the team for planning purposes. Correct and safe use of lifting equipment for handling materials, components and items of plants and equipment. Site maintenance. Assist in ensuring the site is a safe working environment. Assist in the introduction and installation of new machinery and equipment. Report all malfunctions of plant equipment to the shift supervisor. Assure security and safe storage of materials and equipment at all times. to carry out the instructions from the shift manager and maintenance manager, using own initiative as appropriate. Reporting of all hazardous procedures, unsafe or malpractice actions, activities to the maintenance manager. To carry out PAT testings as and when theyre required. Ensure at all times that the work area is in a safe, clean and tidy condition. Maintain the maintenance records of all plant and equipment up to date. Experience & Qualifications; Electrical 17th edition Experience within the foundry work environment Multi skilled in both electrical and mechanical disciplines. Experience of planned preventative maintenance systems. Experience fault finding within MHE/Automation systems. Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings. Basic workshop skills. Must have great communication skills Experience of CNC machinery, 5 axis Lasers, Power Presses, Plasma Cutters and general engineering shopfloor maintenance. Experience of working to appropriate health & safety standards and regulations. Experience of contractor management. Served a full engineering indentured apprenticeship and/or qualified to a minimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent. Experience of high voltage switching. Experience of sortation machines. Experience of maintaining/configuring bar code scanners. Experience of print and apply machines.
