The Performing Arts department comprises of two members of Music staff, three Drama teachers and a full time Performing Arts Technician. We are very lucky to have 7 expert peripatetic instrument teachers that you will be working very closely with. The Music rooms are large and are equipped with drum kits, electric and acoustic guitars, keyboards and pianos. The department also boasts a suite with twenty-seven iMacs all with Logic and Sibelius software. There is a fully functional digital studio and eight practice rooms. You would be working in one of the best resourced departments in London. The ideal candidate would be proficient in music technology with a particular emphasis on Logic X and Sibelius. Piano as a first instrument and the ability to teach key stage 5 is desirable. In line with the Government’s announcement, our academy is closed until further notice. However, during this period it is our intention to continue with critical recruitment for key positions starting in September 2020. In place of academy interviews, alternative options will be offered so that no one is at a disadvantage, and applicants should expect telephone or virtual interviews, with the possibility of onsite academy interviews only in special cases. We want to reassure applicants that effective measures have been implemented to ensure their health and wellbeing whilst on academy premises. Thank you for your cooperation during this difficult time. The successful candidate will: Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree. Implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students. Support the subject area as appropriate and provide direction for Subject Lead and teachers. Monitor and support the overall progress and development of students. Provide a motivating and structured learning experience, which will provide students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential.
