Field Applications Engineer (RF Systems) Cambridge £35k-£50k (dep on exp) We have a brand-new position for a talented Field Applications Engineer to join an exciting, fast-growing & high-tech company, based just outside Cambridge. You will be joining an R&D organization who are developing clever and highly complex RF instrumentation systems which are used in an array of different industries. Using your highly technical skills and experience to help clients solve challenging real-world engineering problems - this role will see you travelling to various customer's sites in Europe, Middle East and Africa and maybe further afield The Field Applications Engineer plays a pivotal role in the organisation; being an ambassador for the business as they are client-facing, thus the confidence to think on your feet, whilst displaying strong technical competency is paramount. The position will require providing high-quality technical and engineering service to customers including via telephone and email support, on-site installation and even training at customer sites. The Field Applications Engineer will need the following skills/experience: Degree in Engineering or equivalent professional experience involving RF systems. Solid understanding of RF concepts, components and systems, computer hardware and software knowledge including networking, ISPs, routers, switches and firewalls Previous experience of working as an Application Engineer, Field Service Engineer or Product Specialist for high-tech businesses Ability to conduct technical demonstrations and training on hardware and software systems to large and small customer groups Thus, excellent communication and interpersonal skills are imperative for the position. Ideally, the successful candidate will also have knowledge of spectrum management as well as Mechanical & Electrical integration - this will be a distinct advantage.
