Overview
Our client - a global engineering company – are looking to recruit an Applications Engineer based in Poole. Key responsibilities will include: · Assessing enquiries and categorising response time by product group based on technical complexity and current workload. · Preparing quotations for customer requirements which include negotiation, costing and margin analysis. · Respond to requests from the Sales team to provide accurate product costs. · Providing technical support and pricing guidance to the Customer Service team. · Visiting, liaising and supporting customers and external sales personnel to ensure that customer expectations are understood and requirements are met. Skills and experience required: · Mechanical Engineering background with extensive knowledge of assembly and manufacturing processes. · High level of commercial awareness and customer focus. · Able to review and disseminate technical drawings, specifications and general documentation. · A strong team player with excellent communication skills. · HNC standard technical qualification in engineering or equivalent. · The ability to build and develop relationships with strong influencing and engagement skills. · Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Outlook, Word and Excel). · Ability to accurately estimate manufacturing and assembly cycle times and material costs.
