The Role You will be based at our HMP Chelmsford community drug and alcohol service, supporting all recovery support functions in the area. Advocating peer mentors, apprentices, volunteers into a coherent recovery support service that offers inspiration and a structured pathway to recovery for hub clients. You shall be supporting the continuation of services that are currently running well in the Chelmsford area, such as peer support groups, violence reduction mentoring programme, service user involvement, trainee counselling scheme and hub fellowship meetings. Role Responsibilities for a Recovery Support Coordinator: Coordinate meet and greets across all Essex units to provide comprehensive, supportive “Prison Gate Pick Up” services, escorting people directly into either residential rehabilitation services, or into community based treatment, criminal justice and “wrap-around” services Support the Recovery Support Team Leader to develop and implement the strategy in Chelmsford across the organisation Set individual objectives to implement and achieve strategic objectives Develop and maintain partnerships with both community and prison based agencies, and attend community and prison based meetings Support the implementation and development of the violence reduction-mentoring programme within the criminal justice team Recruit, interview and review volunteers across Essex Facilitate quarterly reviews and forums with peer mentors and volunteers Develop and establish links with other relevant agencies that offer aftercare support across the UK Act as line manager for peer mentors, apprentices and volunteers including carrying out regular supervision sessions, appraisals and reviews as necessary Support the Team Leader with regular service audits Requirements for the Recovery Support Coordinator: A Supervision qualification A positive problem solving approach with the ability to focus on key issues quickly and clearly A level 2/3 Information, advice or guidance qualification A relevant coaching skills qualification An understanding of the voluntary sector and mentoring programmes Effective negotiating and influencing skills Ability to engage effectively with the client group Understanding of and sensitivity to diversity and equality issues Experience of strategic partnership building Excellent written and verbal communication skills Driven to continuously improve services Company benefits Work-related clinical supervision allowance Simply Health coverage Competitive annual leave entitlements A contributory pension scheme
