Overview

The Role Our client is a well established manufacturing organisation, with a substantial operation in the North East of England. We are currently looking to strengthen the maintenance department with a time served electrically biased maintenance engineer to work a continental shift pattern on a 4 on and 4 off basis. Duties • Offer wide ranging engineering maintenance support to the site via a combination of preventative and reactive breakdown activity • Provide a full and reliable service to all other departments • Work closely with the UK Engineering Manager to support capex project implementation • Work in conjunction with and provide support to the other members of the engineering department • Work with service engineers and external contractors when required • Provide engineering expertise gained from the operational process • Ensure maximum performance from production and site facilities equipment • Be pro-actively looking for training opportunities for personal and department improvement The Person Qualifications • Time served recognised apprenticeship • ONC or NVQ level 3 in maintenance operations or equivalent Experience • Experience in a manufacturing environment • Post apprenticeship experience in a maintenance role is desirable Knowledge • Motors/Drives • PLC’s • Gearbox/transmissions Skills • Excellent team worker • Good use of initiative • Working to schedules with the ability to prioritise changing priorities • Excellent attention to detail and high accuracy • Proactive • Good communication across departments
