Overview
Opportunity for a dynamic H&S advisor to take responsibility for the H&S of an entire site, with roughly 500 employees. Client Details FMCG company which manufactures ambient snack products for an international clientele including branded and own brand retail companies. Description The key responsibilities of the H&S Advisor are: Ensure site activities are carried out in compliance with current legislation and group health and policy and it's support documents Ensure that all required risk assessments are carried out suitably and sufficiently, considering how risks could be reduced Ensure that all safe working practices required are completed, identifying and taking into account relevant hazards Updating and making suggestions to improve when necessary the existing safe working practices to ensure safety and compliance to legislation is maintained at all times Manage monthly H&S meetings, ,ensuring all information is communicated accordingly Provide advice, information and support to Production and operations counter-parts Ensuring that the investigation of injury accidents, dangerous occurrences and other near-misses are carried out proficiently and to the required time-lines, providing direction and coaching as required. Ensuring that all RIDDOR documents are completed to the required timescales Liaising with the company insurer relating to information required in defence of claims and ensuring the required documentation if disclosed within the required timescales Identify the training needs of staff as per the company policy and training matrix Ensure that all staff are inducted as per the H&S procedure Profile The ideal H&S Advisor will: Have experience working in a manufacturing environment, ideally a food factory which is BRC accredited. IOSH or NEBOSH qualification is essential Clear understanding of the challenges of working in a manufacturing environment Excellent communication skills Ability to direct and influence vertically Experience of on-boarding and training staff that come into the factory Job Offer Competitive salary and opportunity to have real autonomy
